I can't deny that throughout my life I dreamed about the day of my wedding. Being raised in a little town in Northern Mexico where weddings were a big celebration had a big impact in my perception of marriage/life. Thank goodness life happens and I learned life is more than a perfect ending, dressed in white getting married in a church. I have gotten to live in different places (México and USA), traveled to different countries and gotten to know different ways people live. Also the media I now consume is quite different from telenovelas.
I met Eli more than three years ago and I'm very happy to be by his side and eternally grateful to life to have found him. He proposed in 2016 in México and we got married this summer in Minnesota. And everything was like a fairy-tale but much cooler and grounded to Earth.

We wanted a spiritual ceremony, and it was especially important to me to have a pre-colonial ceremony. Thanks to our dear friends Sam, Jorge and Guillermo we had a magical and beautiful Mayan blessing.
We had what an aunt of mine described as "very cosmopolitan wedding" due to its mix of traditional and non-traditional elements, friends of family of different cultural backgrounds, and ourselves being a blended family (I'm a stepmom). The Mayan blessing that is uniting my soul to my husband's for the next 26,000 years, quite cosmic! For drinks we had from tequila to whiskey and whisky; for the food we had Mannys' tortas and one of our friends helped grill some amazing stuff; for music he had Mariachi and also danced Hava Nagila. All the fun stuff mixed in one event! 🇺🇸🇲🇽✡️

It meant so much to my husband and I to have our family and friends come not only to the city we live in but have them celebrate the wedding in our home. Now every time I go out to our backyard beautiful memories come to my heart. It was all as magical, loving and fun as I have dreamed! ✨❤️✨
