Some people don’t mind where they stay or how much they spent, but for those of us on a budget here are some great websites that offer comfortable places to stay:
- Generator: Budget-friendly and cutting-edgehostels in Europe, with options to stay in Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Hamburg, London and Venice; Paris and Rome coming soon.
- The Poshpacker: Fancy rooms for less than 100 USD per night, perfect for the budget boutique market around the globe.
- Tablet: Boutique hotels hand-picked by website staff, with great tips for places to visit nearby. This option may not be ideal for those with the lowest budgets, though.
- Airbnb: This is the safe Craigslist of accommodations, where people list and book apartments, lofts or houses worldwide. It goes one step further for boutique style and it’s very affordable!
- Travel Zoo: Not a very user-friendly website, yet they always have the best deals for hotels, shows, airfare, etc.
- Kayak: This is a great search engine for hotels since it also allows you to compare at the same time through Travelocity, booking.com, hotels.com and Expedia.
- Google.com/hotels: beautifully integrated with GoogleMaps, in case location is your primary concern; also searches with filters, so you may select options more specific to your tastes.
Tip: Always look for hidden fees and taxes ;)
Please, let me know of any other websites that have saved your wallet.
